Devon Call Change Ringers visit 26.09.2021

The bells at Almondsbury form, in my opinion, a very good old fashioned octave. Originally a heavy six by Abel Rudhall in 1743 with those bells now being listed, he augmented them in 1751 and Llewellins & James re-cast the 6th in 1881. They have very recently undergone a major restoration by John Taylor & Co. They have been sympathetically tuned, the frame strengthened with all new fittings, the back two bells have wooden shafted clappers. This ringing was from our recent tour to Gloucestershire & Worcestershire and these were the final tower of the day on the Sunday. ringers in this video are – Will Carew, Angie Trout, Rachel Avery, Martin Sharland, Lee Avery, Steve Herniman, Ryan Trout and Steve Trout. Thanks must go to Adam Mead and the ringers at Almondsbury for allowing us to ring and to Gerry Anniss for supplying the footage of the belfry. Enjoy.
