Safeguarding and Data Protection

SAFEGUARDING

The Diocese of Bristol aims to create communities of wholeness with Christ at the centre. Our church communities need to be places where all are safe and protected from abuse, all can be healed and all can live life to the full.

At St Mary’s, we aim to promote a culture of protection and safety for everyone. To this end we are committed to providing effective safeguarding training, support, advice and policies, so that children, young people and vulnerable adults are safe from abuse in the life of the Church and their wellbeing is enhanced. All those who work with children, young people and vulnerable adults at St Mary’s undertake a safer recruitment process, which includes appropriate training and a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, which is renewed every 5 years.

Liz Tierney is our Safeguarding Officer, and any concerns of a safeguarding nature should either be addressed to her mobile: 09799771609 or email: almondsburychurchpso@gmail.com or to a church leader, who will then pass it on to the Safeguarding Officer.

For any concerns relating to a young person and/or adult at risk, please contact Adam Bond, Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor on 0117 9060100 (Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm) or adam.bond@bristoldiocese.org

If out of hours and the matter is of an urgent nature, ring the Police on 999
