Christian teaching
is given through our sermons, through fellowship groups, which meet weekly or fortnightly in people's homes, and through occasional lectures and discussions.

There are also meetings designed to help "enquirers" learn about the Christian faith, for example the well-known Alpha Course, and Christianity Explored. Confirmation Classes are held annually.

Spiritual fitness, like physical fitness, soon slips if exercise is neglected. One important spiritual exercise is meeting together for mutual encouragement. In this Benefice (Almondsbury, Olveston and Aust) we have a number of fellowship groups to which you are warmly invited.

Going For Growth

Please look at the Going For Growth noticeboard for the latest prayer requests.

Alpha Course: we run an Alpha Course every autumn. Is there more to life than this? What happens when we die? What relevance does Jesus Christ have for our lives today? The Alpha Course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting. It is non-threatening, low key, friendly and fun. We listen, learn discuss and discover. And ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile. Alpha is running in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations across the world.

For more information call Ruan Crew on 01454 528239.

From the Alpha website: ŅGuests attend for a wide variety of reasons - some want to investigate whether God exists; others are concerned about what happens after death. Some people have particular questions that they would like to discuss; others want to understand other peoples' beliefs or would like to explore what the purpose of life is. Many guests have never been to church, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith.Ó
